Troubleshooting

Activation, connection and computer limits

Find it: AE panel → Manage License / website → My account

Use it whenWhen activation fails or you need to move to another computer.

Illustration
•••• •••• ••••Private license fieldActivate / Refresh

Steps

  1. For Invalid license, paste the exact license key, not your email address.
  2. For a computer limit, sign in to My account—even from your phone—and remove only the old computer. Its place becomes available immediately.
  3. Activate the new computer with the same key. To reuse a removed computer, first choose Allow this computer again in My account.
  4. For Could not connect, try a phone hotspot on the computer running After Effects, then Refresh activation. Copying a key from your phone does not give the PC a connection.

What happens

You keep the same lifetime license and manage its two computer places without buying again.

Troubleshooting

No active composition

Steps

  1. Open and activate an AE composition.

  2. On disk, check the configured folder beside the .aep; the default is ./AEShiper.
  3. In the AE Project panel, locate or relink the imported AEShiper footage items if the project folder moved.

What happens

Disk files and their imported AE Project panel items can be located separately and relinked correctly.

Troubleshooting

Artwork looks different

Steps

  1. Install matching fonts.

  3. Mark that artwork as an image or ship it explicitly as PNG.

What happens

Rendered appearance is preserved where editable conversion is not suitable.

Troubleshooting

Scale or resolution is unexpected

Find it: Figma Export settings / Illustrator PNG scale / AE image preferences

Use it whenScene dimensions or bitmap sharpness differ from what you expected.

Steps

  1. Check design scale for composition dimensions.
  2. Check PNG export scale for bitmap density and file size.
  3. Apply the corrected setting and make a new shipment.

What happens

Composition sizing and raster density are controlled independently.

What happens

You avoid overlapping transfers and can complete a manual companion update safely.
